ABOUT LG

Rooted in Detroit. Built on Soul.

LG is a Detroit-born vocalist, songwriter, entertainer, and founder of LG & Friends. Blending Motown, classic soul, R&B, funk, gospel, and contemporary influences, his performances bring expressive vocals, humor, confidence, and a natural connection with audiences.

A Musical Legacy

Raised in a musical family, LG carries a legacy shaped by his mother, recording artist LaShell Griffin, who won Oprah Winfrey’s Pop Star Challenge and signed with Sony’s Epic Records, releasing her album “Free.” His late father, LeVoties (Lee) Griffin, was a renaissance man—a singer, pastor, entrepreneur, and community leader whose example connected faith, creativity, and service. Together, their influence continues to guide LG’s approach: sing with purpose, connect with people, and make every opportunity count.

The Journey

From 2016 through 2022, LG served as a full-time touring vocalist for Charlie Wilson. Full tours with Charlie Wilson, KEM, After 7, and K-Ci Hailey helped shape his discipline, versatility, and understanding of professional live entertainment. His touring credits include the Uncle Charlie Cookout Tour and the Frankie Beverly Farewell Tour, with international experience throughout Europe, the Caribbean, and South Africa.

LG was also invited to perform as lead singer for the legendary R&B group Ready For The World at the African World Festival. Additional appearances include the 50th-anniversary musical tribute to Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” at Detroit Music Hall and a National Anthem performance for the Detroit Red Wings. In 2026, he earned second place in Motown’s AMPLIFY singing competition.

Dreams Are Always Possible

Through LG & Friends and DAAP LLC, LG continues to develop platforms for live music, artist collaboration, and community connection. Building on his father’s entrepreneurial philosophy, his vision is to create opportunities that bring people together through joy, love, encouragement, and the possibility of what comes next.
